Research question #1 / What is the current social, environmental and economic value along the Nutella supply chain?

Our calculations will include:

  • Current cost of sourcing, production and distribution
  • Salaries paid to workers along the supply chain
  • List of stakeholders involved and the proportion of their stake

Our public Dropbox contains information about our methodology, the progress we made with our research, as well articles related to C.UBI's foundational components. View it here.

Research question #2 / What would be the true social, environmental and economic value along the Nutella supply chain?

Our calculations will include:

  • So-called “externalities” such as air, water and soil pollution, biodiversity recovery of already damaged areas or waste
  • A decent minimum wage for the people employed along the supply chain
  • Measuring the potential sustainability of the byproducts related to the raw materials’ leftovers

Research question #3 / Compare the results from the first two research questions and explore the implementation of C.UBI.

Our research will include:

  • How would a C.UBI fund function?
  • Who would pay for it and at which stage?
  • Under which conditions would UBI be distributed?
  • What would be the short-term and long-term effects, on a social, economic and environmental level?
